Do you read the ingredients that are in your skincare products? Do you really understand what the elements are supposed to do for you? Are your skincare products not only healthy for you but also for the planet as a whole? I have published a glossary of ingredients that we use in our products. I have made it easy to understand the whys and what for of each element in our skincare. I will continue throughout various blog posts to explain each product and what they do for you individually and as a whole. In this post, I want to talk about our Facial Mask.
The Facial Mask is used to hydrate the skin, and when left longer, it drys and begins to detoxify toxins from various layers of the skin. This mask is also a gentle exfoliator to assist in dead skin removal. The facial mask contains three different types of clay, magnesium, seaweed tincture, and rosemary oil, to name a few.
The Clays:
French Green Clay: The benefits of this European clay are amazing! It naturally removes dead skin cells, impurities, and redness. This clay prevents scarring by helping speed up cell regeneration. It draws out impurities and treats eczema and psoriasis.
Moroccan Red Clay: This clay is from northern Africa. This gem packs a "punch" when it comes to your skin. This red clay is an excellent astringent; it cleanses and exfoliates the skin. It is super for sensitive skin, treats acne, reduces pores, and soften the skin. This superstar of clays improves skin texture, elasticity, and helps fix pigmentation issues.
Moroccan Red Clay is rich in Silica and Magnesium, which help break down oils and helps cosmetic tissue repair.
Bentonite Clay: Bentonite Clay comes from volcanic ash. This fantastic clay helps the skin with disorders like acne, psoriasis, eczema, hyperpigmentation, and wrinkles. This clay contains essentials like calcium, magnesium, and iron. This stuff reduces blemishes while exfoliating, removing dead skin cells and encourages the renewal of healthy skin cells. Bentonite tones and tightens the skin, actually shrinking tissue with its astringent properties. This clay, in turn, makes the skin seem younger.
With just these three ingredients, it would be enough to use every day to have beautiful, healthy skin. We haven't even started yet!
The next element is 100% organic (not derived) Seaweed Tincture. The tincture is full of antioxidants, vitamins (Like A, C & E - B1, B2 & D), amino acids, and minerals (magnesium, calcium, copper & potassium). This combination boosts the skins' anti-aging abilities. The antioxidants even out pigmentation. The amino acids plump skin giving the appearance of youthful skin. Seaweed super hydrates the skin by drawing moisture from our environment. It helps to heal acne, rosacea, and sensitive skin.
Ok, so all of that awesomeness and let us add one more superstar element, Rosemary! We use Rosemary essential oil (100% cold-pressed) and Rosemary Extract. Understand that the oil/extract is several times more potent than the raw herb. This fantastic element is a potent anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, detoxifier, and full of antioxidant properties.
The antioxidants in Rosemary (carnosol and ursolic acid) delays skin aging, reducing signs of wrinkles, preventing free radicals, and improves elasticity. It reduces cellulite formation, reducing cellulite, inturn restoring your youthful appearance. It speeds up the healing process, which is effective against scarring and wounds.
Rosemary oil acts as a natural cleanser relieving skin congestion. It rids dead skin cells, germs, and other impurities that dog our skin or dull our complexion. It removes black and whiteheads. The astringent properties cause skin pores to diminish in size. Your skin will appear taunt and firm by removing excess oil, leaving skin tight and dry. As an anti-microbial, Rosemary combats skin infection. The combined anti-microbial, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties of this fantastic oil effectively address acne problems. Rosemary has a strong natural odor that wins through in this product.
There is yet another fantastic ingredient, Zinc Oxide, keeping company with the other surprising natural elements in this facial mask. Zinc is Nature's natural sunscreen! It is also a "building block" for protein synthesis enzyme creation. It locks in moisture while assisting in the recovery of damaged tissue. Zinc helps improve the synthesis of collagen and forming of connective tissue, which helps the appearance of aging skin.
I will get into the other ingredients, such as Lavender, Myrrh, and Ylang Ylang essential oil in other products. I could write forever on the successes we have had with the Facial Mask. Every element of this product chosen to enhance our microbiome (personal ecosystem) and to be a "multi-tasking" product. This mask may be used on sensitive skin or leave it on longer for an intense detoxification mask. It is safe for the environment, filled with vitamins & minerals, to rid the skin of free radicals from our outside environment, making it a 2020 trend as anti-pollution skincare.
